Very tolerant of soils, however prefers slightly acidic, moist conditions
Diagnostic Characteristics:
Leaves are simple, opposite, 3 to sometimes 5-lobed, and 2-5" in length and width. Buds are clusters of red in March that gives way to red and slightly reddish-yellow. Samaras are 1-3" in length and are reddish-brown at maturity.
