Diagnostic Characteristics:
Leaves (3-5" long and 2 1/3" wide with 1/4" long, pubesent petiole) are opposite, simple, broad ovate, rounded at base, irregularly dentate, dull green with stellate (star-shaped) pubescence above and paler and pubescent below. Pink buds open to white 4-5" wide clusters of flowers in mid to late spring.
